The aim of the course:
To obtain the students the proper knowledge for the formation and maintenance of green spaces and the selection of appropriate plants and good practices to solve the most important problems in the parks green spaces to the cities. With the successful completion of lesson the students will be able to: • Recognize the important problems they have the trees and shrubs in the urban and suburban environment. • Choose the proper way for their confrontation.

- COURSE CONTENT

1η2η The proper for the occasion, formation of green spaces and the choose of suitable plants. 3η4η The right maintenance of urban and suburban green. , instructions for good practices (e.g. proper pruning). 5ηThe use of insecticides in urban green.. 6η-11η The most important entomological problems in urban and suburban green in our country: pine tree insects, aphids, root soil insects, nematodes, species of the family Curculionidae that infect conifers, insects of palm trees, Marchalina hellenica, Blastophagus piniperda, Lymantria dispar (biology ways to treat these species. 12η -13η Composition and presentation of projects (in groups or individuality from the students) about the course

The language for evaluation is Greek.
The methods are applied for evaluation are:
Final written examination including questions with sort answers. For improving their grade students can work personal or with groups project in insect taxonomy. Lab exercises. Students with dyslexia or other learning difficulties instead of the final written examination, they have oral examination. Before this comes the information of the department and the stuff from the student about the problem he/ she has. After the exams the questions will be posted on the notice board so the students will be able to calculate their own grade by themselves. The grades of the students will be posted on the online platform. The students will have the ability to see their exam paper on demand to the professor. The students can also inquire about the way that their exam papers are graded and additionally will be able to see the comments of the professor about their evaluation.
